Sunny days

Ah, the last couple of days have been lovely - clear skies and warm sun, almost like a proper summer!
The sunset last night was beautiful...

No editing needed, straight out of the camera - isn't nature amazing?

Not much going on at HQ the last couple of weeks, I've been absolutely addicted to the Rio Olympics!  So proud of Team GB and the hard work they have put in, puts my little trips to the gym to shame.

This week has seen the completion of bunny number 32 ready for baby William to arrive next month and some bits of jewellery.  The stash tin (for when I eventually do a craft fair!) is coming along nicely due to some wrap style leather bracelets using fire polished beads and Swarovski crystal buttons.

I made some earrings as well this week with lovely soft coloured Swarovski crystals

Last weekend was a bit busy, I was invited by Emirates to enjoy corporate hospitality at Durham County Cricket Club and see Bryan Adams play live.
I've seen him a few times before and he's always amazing.  Such a hard worker, no support band and a great 2 hour show full of hits.

Our night continued long after his show and it was almost 4am when I got home.  Work was a struggle on Saturday but thankfully we are only open until 2pm!

I had tickets for a pre-season Newcastle Falcons match so went straight to Kingston Park to meet my friend and her daughter.  It's a good job it was a nice sunny day and the match was action packed as it kept me going!!

I crashed on the sofa as soon as I got home, can't take late nights anymore lol

What's on the go?

What's not on the go is probably an easier question!
I need to stop "multi-projecting" and concentrate on one at a time.  I've got so many things on the go I'm losing track lol

It was my day off yesterday, so I headed along to Prudhoe to my local wool shop for a natter and some crochet time.  It's a great little drop-in group so you never know who you're going to see and what they're making.  I needed to get a wriggle on with my friend Sharon's blue bunny for her new grandson who is due soon, so a couple of hours concentrated crochet was just what I needed.

I've got prem baby items on the go for a local group (Needles Hooks Angels and Preemies), the Scheepjes CAL which I haven't started yet, jewellery stock to make, Christmas pudding/chocolate orange holders to start, a quilted bag for my mum and of course bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!

I need to take a month off work and sort myself out lol

I must say I'm rather pleased with the bracelets I've been making over the last couple of weeks and hopefully once I get them priced and uploaded on to Facebook everyone else will like them too.

I made this one for our lovely lottery lady from work for her birthday and have had a bit of interest, so need to get cracking on those.

I've also been making some leather and beaded ones too...

I did reward myself with a nice new pair of shoes yesterday, of course Mr Weasley wanted in on the act (he's so vain!)

It was my parents' wedding anniversary yesterday so I looked after the dogs while they went out for dinner.  I couldn't resist taking this cheeky pic while they were gone ...

Until next time! Xxx

What's on the hook Wednesday?

Evening all, I'm all confused this week - having Monday off muddles my brain and I always forget what day it is!

Thankfully it's the peak of the week and we're now heading towards the weekend!

So, what's on my hook this Wednesday?
A baby cardigan.

But not just any baby cardigan, this is premature sized and its tiny!
I'm trying to put together a little donation for a local group (Needles Hooks Angels and Preemies) who help hospitals all over the country with a huge range of desperately needed items for baby units - hats, clothes, blankets and even little robes for angel babies.
My mum has already knitted some tiny pieces but I want to add some crochet ones as well.  I'm going to try to make a piece inbetween projects - fingers crossed!

I'm not a political person in any way whatsoever, but I thought this picture of the Downing Street cat, Larry was appropriate today as we "welcome" a new Prime Minister ..... the speech bubble was my idea 🙊

Made me giggle.
Until next time xx

Time flies

I can't believe where this week has gone!  This time last week I had snoozed my way home from Skiathos.

Now, the holiday clothes have been washed and put away along with the case and passport.
And my tan is fading quicker than George Michael's jeans in the 80's!!
I really hope I can get back next year for my friends wedding, however, I need funds.
Desperately!

So, operation "make" will need to be finalised and launched pretty soon.

I have a project on the hook now which will be finished this weekend and then it's back to the bunnies as I have a couple of orders in already.  What I really need to do though, is get into my bead stash and start making bracelets again.  Watch this space for my makes - I'll be posting pics!

For now, here's me and my boy living the high life on a Friday night!

Back to the real world

So, after an amazing two weeks away it was back to the alarm clock this morning and back to work :(

It's rainy, I'm cold and I swear my tan is fading already.
If there was anyway I could divide myself between the two (not necessarily 50/50 I hasten to add) then I'd certainly give it a go.
I can see me with a little set of studios and a jewellery stall on the port, well a girl can dream lol

A catch up with friends after work and a sneaky peak at prices for next year have lifted the holiday blues cloud a little bit.

There's always a rainbow somewhere ...
