Beads, boats and bunnies!

Time is flying by again, I can't believe we are at the end of August already.  I don't know about other crafty bods but I usually start Christmas makes in September.  I've got a couple more rabbits to do then moving on to poppies (if there's a demand) and then chocolate orange covers and anything else that gets thrown my way!
I'm hoping to make myself a chunky cardigan - I picked the wool up today but it's just fitting it in over paying orders, I don't think it will take too long as it's made on a big hook.

Lots more beading done this week with some pearl bracelets and earrings

And also some long necklaces made with beautiful frosted glass pendants

I have another 2 of these pendants to make up when I get some more cord.

The Tall Ships race has visited our region again over the bank holiday weekend.  I remember going with my dad when it came to Newcastle years ago and it absolutely tipped it down so we didn't stay long!  I found the commemorative plaques a while ago down on the quayside ...

I have noticed recently that one has been badly damaged which is a shame as they're rather special.

This time the regatta came to Blyth and once again my poor Dad had the job of taking me!  This time, however, the weather was beautiful (amazing for a bank holiday weekend!)

I forgot to post a picture of the last bunny before I delivered him to his new family so here he is ...

And off I go to finish the next one!

Sunny days

Ah, the last couple of days have been lovely - clear skies and warm sun, almost like a proper summer!
The sunset last night was beautiful...

No editing needed, straight out of the camera - isn't nature amazing?

Not much going on at HQ the last couple of weeks, I've been absolutely addicted to the Rio Olympics!  So proud of Team GB and the hard work they have put in, puts my little trips to the gym to shame.

This week has seen the completion of bunny number 32 ready for baby William to arrive next month and some bits of jewellery.  The stash tin (for when I eventually do a craft fair!) is coming along nicely due to some wrap style leather bracelets using fire polished beads and Swarovski crystal buttons.

I made some earrings as well this week with lovely soft coloured Swarovski crystals

Last weekend was a bit busy, I was invited by Emirates to enjoy corporate hospitality at Durham County Cricket Club and see Bryan Adams play live.
I've seen him a few times before and he's always amazing.  Such a hard worker, no support band and a great 2 hour show full of hits.

Our night continued long after his show and it was almost 4am when I got home.  Work was a struggle on Saturday but thankfully we are only open until 2pm!

I had tickets for a pre-season Newcastle Falcons match so went straight to Kingston Park to meet my friend and her daughter.  It's a good job it was a nice sunny day and the match was action packed as it kept me going!!

I crashed on the sofa as soon as I got home, can't take late nights anymore lol

What's on the go?

What's not on the go is probably an easier question!
I need to stop "multi-projecting" and concentrate on one at a time.  I've got so many things on the go I'm losing track lol

It was my day off yesterday, so I headed along to Prudhoe to my local wool shop for a natter and some crochet time.  It's a great little drop-in group so you never know who you're going to see and what they're making.  I needed to get a wriggle on with my friend Sharon's blue bunny for her new grandson who is due soon, so a couple of hours concentrated crochet was just what I needed.

I've got prem baby items on the go for a local group (Needles Hooks Angels and Preemies), the Scheepjes CAL which I haven't started yet, jewellery stock to make, Christmas pudding/chocolate orange holders to start, a quilted bag for my mum and of course bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!

I need to take a month off work and sort myself out lol

I must say I'm rather pleased with the bracelets I've been making over the last couple of weeks and hopefully once I get them priced and uploaded on to Facebook everyone else will like them too.

I made this one for our lovely lottery lady from work for her birthday and have had a bit of interest, so need to get cracking on those.

I've also been making some leather and beaded ones too...

I did reward myself with a nice new pair of shoes yesterday, of course Mr Weasley wanted in on the act (he's so vain!)

It was my parents' wedding anniversary yesterday so I looked after the dogs while they went out for dinner.  I couldn't resist taking this cheeky pic while they were gone ...

Until next time! Xxx
