Not sure about this one?

Morning, happy Friday everyone!

How I wish I worked normal Monday to Friday hours, I work most Saturdays and there's just no excitement to the week when you get days off here and there :o( Well that's my moan for the day lol on to my card... I'm not sure about this one, it certainly doesn't look like it did in my head when I started it!

I'm entering it into the Colour Create Challenge # 50 which is to use hot pink, warm orange and saffron with an optional extra of adding butterflies.

http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/2010/07/challenge-50-hot-pink-warm-orange-and.html
The papers are freebies from a magazine, I love them and the colours and to make tham stand out a bit more I inked the edges of the darker pink strips with green ink. The butterfly has been inked (was originally white) with a hot pink ink pad, attached with glosy accents and then sticky gems added to the body. I then added some little orange butterfly gems and a sentiment from my stash. I don't know what I was expecting but there's just something I'm not happy with.

Hmm, let me know what you think
Have a good day, Hayley x

Back to the grind :o(

Oh I had such a lovely day off yesterday. I had a lovely chilled out morning, got all my chores done, sorted out the craft room and even made a card!

I was going to enter it into the Forever Friends Challenge which was a sketch....

it wasn't until I went to upload it this morning that I realised the challenge closed on Monday! I really need to get up to date and keep track of time lol

Oh well, I'll put it into the gallery on the Facebook Group, someone might want to buy it

I used the sketch from the Card Patterns Challenge again as I liked the way the first one looked. I chose the colours for this hoping it would stand out on the mantelpiece!

A Grand Day out & A Challenge Card

Morning bloggers,

Wow what a busy week it seems to have flown by it just seems like 2 minutes since I was sitting cuddling baby Athena last Sunday morning.

I was off on Friday this week and spent the day with my Grandad. We have been talking about having a day out for ages, visting his childhood haunts etc. The weather has been shocking all week and I feared we would have to cancel but thankfully Friday dawned cloudy but dry.

We walked all over the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside area visiting where his Granny's house was (photo above), the site of the factory where he started his first job, it was great to hear him talking about the war and local history. We went into a new Heritage Centre (photo below) and while he told tales of being an evacuee the staff were entranced! It was a great day, we took loads of pictures and can't wait to plan our next adventure :o)

Despite my busy week and being at work this weekend, I managed to squish in some crafting! One of the girls I work with is adopting a 2 year old little boy and has asked me to make her some announcement cards. I have done the first one and am entering it into 2 challenges....

Challenge 1: Allsorts Challenge, "Baby / Child"

Challenge 2: Card Patterns, sketch 74

So that's one down and 11 to go - let's see how many other challenges I can complete while doing this batch, fingers crossed!

Lily of the Valley Candy!

Oooh, quick hop over to LOTV to check out their new Christmas stamp designs and the blog candy which will be drawn this Wednesday

http://ideastoinspire.blogspot.com/2010/07/little-candy-for-you.html

I must get started on my Christmas cards before the orders start coming in from the Facebook group!

I'm feeling a little down today - not just because it's Monday but because my bestest friend has started her new adventure. Louise has gone off to work on a luxury cruise ship! I'm so excited for her as it's a massive step after a traumatic couple of months but I'm sad as I won't get to see her very often. However, her first shore leave is in November so we are planning a big night out!

Wedding Madness

Hi Bloggers,

hope you are all well and enjoying this odd weather we are having - one minute it's blazing sunshine and the next it's a thunder storm and quite chilly. I wonder if those long sunny days were our summer - it's notoriously short up here in the north!

This week my day off was Tuesday so I managed to do another 2 cards from the Facebook group - they are both wedding cards for my friend Leonie whose only specification was that the names and dates were added. For the first one I used some stickers I've had for quite a while and some gorgeous paper I've not wanted to use! I'm entering this into the "Colour Create Challenge" which is warm pinks, white and chocolate, it's ages since I entered anything into a challenge so maybe this one will bring me luck!

The second was made using freebie papers and a matching topper from a magazine along with some paper flowers, gems and peel off corners from my stash.

My friend Leonie loved the cards, I hope the 2 happy couples do too.

Well, I'm off tomorrow so who knows I might get the craft room tidied up and get some more crafting done!

Bye for now xx

Rushing About

Wow what a busy couple of weeks I have had with revision, exams, my birthday, nights out and a weekend away with the girls it's no wonder my head's in a spin lol
Had a great time with some repping buddies last weekend in Glasgow which was long overdue.
We spent Friday catching up on all the gossip and then Saturday went out for a lovely dinner followed by cocktails...
I also had Monday off work so managed a bit of crafting too which was good. Another of the Facebook group orders was for a "Fire Engine 3rd birthday" and an "anniversary for my husband" both of which you can see below.

For the fire engine I used my Mum's craft cd rom which is from Crafters Companion and decoupaged the main image and used a co-ordinating backing paper.

And yet again another easel card for the anniversary - my challenge is to find another style I love, and quickly!

I thought the superhero idea was so different to the usual slushy romantic cards for anniversaries, let's hope the hubby in question agrees lol!

New Month, New Look

I thought the start of the new month deserved a new look to my page.

My Facebook group is doing well - had another 2 orders this week. It's all about weddings at the moment and here is the first of 3 wedding cards I need to do this week.

The spec was pretty simple "just put their names on" so I dug out some freebie papers I had from a magazine and came up with this easel card. I really love making easels, they're so easy to make and yet look unusual and guaranteed to stand out on the mantelpiece!

It's another hot and sticky day here in Newcastle, the sun isn't shining but it's really close and clammy as we say up here. Hoping to get another card done tonight and then I'm off up to Scotland for the weekend.
