Do I ever do anything except apologise for not blogging!?

My days are all rolling into one at the moment and with various knitting, crochet and cross stitch projects on the go my paper stash is crying loneliness!

I've got a baby card to do this weekend so will hopefully have something to enter into the challenges.

I just wanted to pop along to tell you all I'm taking part in the Cancer Research Race for Life tomorrow with my Mum. This will be the 3rd time we have done it, it's always an emotional day but one filled with smiles as well as tears. As always my Mum is wearing my Auntie Maureen's name on her back sign and sadly this year I will be wearing my friend Kerry's name. Kerry was only 33 when she lost her long-fought battle with cancer in February and although there is now a bright beautiful star in the sky, life on earth is more than just a little bit dull without her.

I have added a sponsorship badge to my profile (top right), it would be amazing if some of you lovely people in blogland could sponsor me, every penny helps.

Back tomorrow, hugs Hayley xxx

A card at last!

Hi everyone

sorry it's been a while since I blogged a challenge card, I've just not had much spare time lately.

Never mind, here's my challenge entry today:

This is my nephew's birthday card - I'm a bit early as it's not his birthday until July but you know when you get an idea in your head and you just have to run with it?!

The image is a Molly Bloom clear stamp coloured with water colour pencils and the bunting is also a Molly Bloom but coloured with promarkers for a more intense shade. You can't see it very well but I have accented the star on his jumper and a couple of the flags with glossy accents.

I made the digital sentiment myself and found the little star charm in my newly cleared out stash!

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday: #111 seeing stars

Papertake Weekly: bloom and grow (or Molly Bloom images)

Passion for Promarkers: #100 red, white, blue and a charm

All for now - byeeee! xxx

I'm A Winner!

Well, how surprised and delighted am I - I've won my first online challenge!

My wedding card (see post below) won one of three prizes for challenge 139 over at Cupcake Craft Challenges.

I always try to remember to check back to see who the winners are for the challenges I've entered (I must admit somethimes I forget!) and I was totally gobsmacked to see my name - he he!!

I can't wait to receive my 5 digital images from The Stamping Boutique :o)

I haven't got a challenge entry for today but wanted to share the card I made for my Grandad, who was 85 yesterday.

We are having a suprise garden party at my parents house on Sunday for him - fingers crossed the weather stays good! I'm in charge of cakes so am baking a pumpkin and walnut cake and lemon cupcakes - yummy!!

See you all later, enjoy the weekend!

With Love

Good evening all

Well I don't know about you but all of these Bank Holidays and extra holidays (thanks William & Catherine!) have meant I've been working alternate days and it's got my head spinning!

Tonight's card is in keeping with the excitement of spring and the Royal wedding and the colour scheme reflects it too with red (although it looks orange on my picture!), white and blue to show my patriotism and fresh green for spring :o)

All of the I've used papers were from a magazine freebie - I love the Cath Kidston look that they have, paper flowers from my Mum's stash (because they matched) and a new Forever Friends stamp which I've had a while but not used yet. The flower centres are white buttons with silky / fluffy ribbon / fibres threaded through and of course I have added fairy dust to the brides veil and coloured the image with Promarkers.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge #139: Fluffy

Forever Friends: Sketch

Kaboodles Doodles #64: Here Comes The Bride

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone, I'm off work tomorrow, Friday and Sunday so have time for more crafting - although I really need to tidy my crafty space and will of course be glued to the tv on Friday for the wedding of William and Catherine!

Sweet Treats and Easter Wishes

Hi Bloggers

I hope you are all taking advantage of the wonderful sunny weather on this long weekend - I have to work tomorrow and Monday but it's beautiful out there today!

I have popped indoors from the sunshine to make this post as I'm hoping not to miss the Crazy4Challenges quest this week which is to make an Easter gift. My family have not exchanged chocolate eggs for a few years now but I wanted to make a little something for my Mum so came up with this...

I thought it was a good way to use up some of my little bits of stash. The template was a magazine freebie from absolutely ages ago but I'm glad I kept it as the box was so easy to make.

I've decorated it with a stamped sentiment alongside two Meljens Designs digital sentiments (coloured with Promarkers) paper flowers and brads from my stash and some sticky ribbon from the last DoCrafts goody bag.

The little flowers on the inside flaps were punched from the main paper and adhesive gems added to the centres.

My Mum loves butterflies so I hope she loves this, especially the treat inside!
My job for tonight is to make a significantly less girlie one for my Dad!!

I'm entering my little gift box into the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges: #83 Easter gift

Creative Inspirations Challenge: #57 Easter

Lexi's Creations: #38 Anything but a card

The Crafty Pad: #117 Easter

Pear Tree Designs: #45 Easter

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone and Happy Easter! xx

Quick Post!!

Morning Bloggers! I'm running very late with my challenge card today so this is a brief post so I don't miss another deadline!

I had wanted to enter this into the Passion for Promarkers Challenge but have missed it - oops! I really must invest in more Promarkers so that I can get into shading instead of just the flat colour image I have at the moment.

I've used my gorgeous Anya stamp and paper pieced her umbrella. The pink card is from my stash and I have put it through a paper crimper which I saved from my Aunts rubbish bin! The yellow papers and bow are all from the new Papermania Lemon Capsule Range and the flowery sticker border was included in the recent DoCrafts Goody Bag as well.

Anyway, must dash got to link up! Creative Card Crew: "April Showers"

Papertake Weekly: "Anything Goes / Something New"

Moving Along With The Times: #93 sketch

Happy crafting!!! xx

Spring has sprung!

Hello bloggers, what lovely spring weather we are having at the moment (a bit windy but the sun is shining!) I was off work yesterday and took my challenge inspiration from the gorgeous daffodils in my garden. They are one of my favourite flowers and I love it when the sun shines on them!

I've not used this stamp for ages - in fact I knew it was the one I wanted to use for these challenges but I thought I'd lost it and it took me forever to find it (buried in my box of ribbons), the papers are from the new Papermania capsule collection (as are the buttons) and the stamp was a magazine freebie.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Allsorts: #97 blooming blossoms

Crazy4Challenges: #81 sketch

Stamp Scrap & Doodle: glitz

Corrosive Challenge: #110 pastel colours

The Crafty Pad: #115 flowers

Stamptacular Sunday: #105 buttons, bling & bloom

Kaboodles Doodles: #61 let's get girly

Pollycraft Monday: #87 old / neglected stamp

Back to work today - off on Sunday!

Hugs, Hayley xx

On A Roll (at last!)

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments about my previous card, it's always good to hear what other people think :o) and especially as I've not made any challenge cards for such a long time. I wish there were more hours in the day! As it happens I didn't give that particular card to my Mum for Mother's Day as I had already made this one ...

You can't quite see all of the sparkle on it and I even spritzed the flowers to make them smell of her favourite perfume!

I don't know anyone who doesn't love Forever Friends bears, they're so adorable and so I have used one for my next challenge card...

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Forever Friends: Colour Bingo

Wild Orchid: Sketch

Creative Card Crew: For A Child

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mum's out there in blogland, I'm delighted to say I received a card and beautiful flowers from my Godaughter this morning :o) Love you Athena xx
